PRESS RELEASE: Seapoint & Brush'n Go deepen their cooperation

Seapoint’s operations are expanding with two new marinas as Mathildan Marina in Salo and Airisto join the chain. The expanding Seapoint chain enables offering new boating services to customers.

The cooperation started in 2020 with Brush `n Go, which offers boat hull cleaning services, is expanding, and next summer hull cleaning will be available weekly at Seapoint stations in Barösund, Dalsbruk, Espoo, Mathildan Marina, Porkkala, Sandnäsudden and Vuosnainen.

”The use of toxic paints must end in order to save the Baltic Sea. We are happy and proud to cooperate with Brush `n Go by offering our customers the possibility to clean boat hulls. A clean hull has a significant effect on fuel consumption and with regular cleaning the hull can be left unpainted with toxins,” says Seapoint’s development man Oskari Juva.

Brush ´n Go – the boat hull cleaning service – was founded in 2020 by Tomi Koivulehto and Stefan Koskinen who noticed a peculiar situation in recreational boating. Current bottom paints no longer keep organisms off the hull as desired, but heavily pollute the environment. Every year recreational boaters buy 850,000 kg of toxic paint for hulls, which eventually ends up in waterways (Tukes).

”We are in a situation where boaters poison hulls but still need to clean them to keep boats moving. The message from the field is clear. Boaters are fed up with the current situation and are looking for alternative ways to maintain their hulls,” says Tomi Koivulehto, one of Brush ´n Go’s founders.

”We have received lots of positive feedback from boaters, which motivates us to invest significantly in the 2021 season. We are very excited about deepening cooperation with Seapoint. Their passion to develop the chain’s operations inspires us, and our shared values make the partnership natural. We hope the service reaches as many boaters as possible and introduces toxin-free boating and its ease. Our goal is to be the largest and most comprehensive player in the industry, with a mission to clean the Baltic Sea one boat hull at a time,” Koivulehto continues.

”Seapoint commits to promoting more sustainable boating with practical measures. Several Seapoint stations will be equipped with fixed hull cleaning equipment. Renting cleaning brushes will also be possible from Seapoint stations,” Juva continues.

Seapoint is an independent Finnish service chain founded in 2014, with a total of 20 marinas on the Gulf of Finland, Archipelago Sea and Saimaa. Seapoint is part of the Juva Shipping Group.
